Your Hosts  Yvonne and   Trevor

Trevor is a Brisbane boy, the family home being at Woody Point on Moreton Bay.  As a young boy he spent many happy hours fishing and playing on Moreton Bay.

Later, as a Manufacturing Engineer, Trevor travelled and worked in Israel, the U.K , New Zealand and Australia, gaining an extensive background in business and manufacturing. He has recently retired after giving the last few 'working' years to General Management in the disability sector. Trevor has also trained as a qualified Chef, after acquiring an appreciation of good food and wine.

Trevor designed and built the Yarrandabbi Dreaming buildings himself, to comply with and exceed the rigid Queensland Commercial and Cyclone Building Standards for the Accommodation Industry. (Yvonne was the 'Builders Labourer').

Yvonne calls her husband "Clever Trevor" knowing there is nothing this very accomplished, yet humble and humourous  man cannot do!

Yvonne, originally from New Zealand, has an extensive  background in the tourism and travel industry.

As a  Sales Executive with BOAC/British Airways for many years, then Thomas Cook Corporate Travel, Yvonne lived and worked in N.Z., South Africa, UK and Europe -settling in Australia after marrying Trevor in 1988. Yvonne has a degree in Adult Education and was an I.A.T.A., Tourism and Travel Teacher with Brisbane Institute of TAFE's College of Tourism and Hospitality COTAH. It was in this role that she acquired a love of Southeast Queensland and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands in particular.

We really enjoy welcoming and hosting our guests and without being intrusive, will ensure that your stay is most comfortable, relaxing and an altogether happy, memorable experience! If you have any special requests, please let us know.  Looking forward to meeting you soon...

  Yvonne and   Trevor

                                                                              TRAVEL DIRECTIONS TO MACLEAY ISLAND

38 Kms (45 minutes) from BRISBANE's CBD, or, drive 75 minutes North from the GOLD COAST to REDLAND BAY. There Passenger Ferries and vehicle Barges depart for Macleay Island. Brisbane's public transport services, Translink, also serve Redland Bay and our Islands.

Brisbane Airport or Cruise Terminal Transfers can be arranged with Bay-Air Transport ( info@bayairtransfers.com ) on scheduled shuttle or, personalized mini-bus `Meet & Greet' services which will transport you to the Redland Bay Ferry Terminal. Cost $99.00 for two people each way ($15 each extra person).

Most conveniently, use Stradbroke Ferries Vehicle Ferries,  just 45 mins across tranquil inner bay waters from Redland Bay. There are 8 to 10 sailings per day departing from that Barge Terminal, 1 Weinam Street, 80 metres from the Police Station.  We offer specially reduced Barge prices for our guests - $95.00 return for car and passengers. Please enquire on booking.  It is so much more economical to bring your own vehicle if there are two or more people, plus you'll have the freedom to sight-see on the island where there is no public transport.

Translink's Passenger Ferry Terminal is located off Banana St., only 300 metres from the Barge Terminal in REDLAND BAY. These fast Catamaran commuter services depart almost half hourly and honour Brisbane Translink GoCards., or, purchase tickets on board for $10.50 each way.  It takes 15 minutes across inner bay waters to reach Macleay Island which is usually the 2nd stop. (Some departures travel anti-clockwise around the four Southern Moreton Bay Islands and Macleay would then be the third stop)

Parking around the Passenger Ferry Terminal is at a premium if you arrive there after 2.00pm. There is an overflow park available in Meissner Street, 300 metres away. Additional parking may also be found near the Barge Terminal.

Courtesy transfers to and from Yarrandabbi Dreaming on Macleay Island will be provided if you phone us on embarking the Passenger Ferry advising which Ferry you have caught! We will then meet and welcome you at the Jetty on arrival!
